Nelson Rowe BVM&S CertEP MRCVS - Director & Veterinary Surgeon:
Many of you may have met Nelson, but for those of you who haven’t, Nelson qualified from The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies Edinburgh in 2003. From there he went to work for a practice in Somerset before taken an equine position at Rowe Veterinary Group, becoming a salaried partner in 2010. Nelson has spent much of his spare time in 2011 studying towards his Royal College Certificate in Equine Practice, which he was recently awarded. He is a keen horseman who hunts and competes in Open Team Chases. He is also a successful racing driver.
Richard Rowe BVMS MRCVS - Veterinary Surgeon:
Richard is a Senior Partner of the Rowe Veterinary Group and will be maintaining his interest with the equine side of veterinary medicine by working on the out of hours rota for Rowe Equine. He offers his 37 years’ experience of veterinary care in support of this new enterprise.
Aoife Byrne DVM MRCVS – Veterinary Surgeon:
Aoife qualified from Szent István University Faculty of Veterinary Science in Budapest in 2007. She took an equine internship on the Curragh in Ireland for 12 months before working for an equine ambulatory practice, she followed this with a stud season at the Beaufort Embryo Transfer Centre. Having come from a horsey family over the water in Ireland she is a gutsy horsewoman who isn’t shy of riding side-saddle in the hunting field.
Thomasia Rowe BSc (Hons) - Director & Practice Manager:
Thomasia (Massey) attended Hartpury College gaining a degree in Equine Science in 2001; she then worked in point-to-point and hunting yards and enjoys teaching at Pony Club camp each year. Massey joined the Rowe Veterinary Group in 2005 where she has worked as Head Receptionist and administrator for the Equine Eye Clinic at the Thornbury Practice. Massey is a looking forward to her new position and is keen to get to know you all.
Charley Oakhill - Care Assistant:
Charley is also new to the team and will be working alongside Nelson and Aoife in the Equine Clinic. She will be there to assist you if your horse comes in for any work at the hospital. She has great practical equine knowledge through pony club, owning and bringing on her own horses.
